  • I was staying downtown for business so I thought I would check this place out. It is walking distance from most major hotels. I was impressed by the quality and variety of beers, all brewed on site. Also the food was more than passable "bar food" and bordered on "gastropub" territory. The servers were friendly, attentive, and very knowledgable about both the food and beer selections. To top it off, the prices were very reasonable.

    the decor is a unique pre-war rustic look (exposed brick and brewery equipment give it a nice touch). the quality of food is among the best in the downtown area, even for takeout.

    Max Lager's is a wonderful, sophisticated,grill with delectible food and a broad array of beers on tap and a full bar and wine list. It has never disappointed. Whether a steak or burger, everything tastes awesome. Service is efficient and knowledgable. Decor is well appropriate for its restaurant type. It is simply one of those places where one feels confortable and wants to remain even if they have other evening plans.
