On a weeknight you can't beat this quiet, well staffed spot. The tapas were well prepared and delicious. The quality of the food has definately improved over the last 3 years and i would go back
Finding a good place for dinner on a Sunday night is not easy, so I think that Meigas is doing quite a service for the Norwalk area by addressing this need. We were a group of 6 and the tapas, salads and entrees were uniformly very nicely done and well presented. The service was excellent. I cannot judge how it was before the ownership change, but it is very nice now. But I must admit that it is not quite in the same league as Ibiza in New Haven.
This used to be an exceellent restaurant. It seems like there are new owners. The service and food has deteriorated although the atmosphere is still very nice.
After going through a rocky period following the change of ownership, I am happy to report that Meigas has regained it's rightful place on the list of Norwalk's finest restaurants. The Tapas Menu early in the week is a wonderful bargain. The wine list is outstanding and thankfully the lovely decor has remained essentially unchanged and retains it's charm. I have reservations for my second New Year's Eve in a row and I cannot wait!
Great deal Mon-Weds: 2 courses PF $20, needed because the place was 2/3 empty on Tuesday night at 800 pm. I had the piquillos stuffed with oxtail and rice that I liked a lot, and the cochinillo (without the bones) transported me back to Sitges. Nice all-Espana wine list is value priced. Service shaky: no greeter at entrance, and service is light from there, maybe I caught them on a bad night. Food as good as Ibiza, but experience not as much fun.
