Great place, really. We were in & out before dusk so we couldn't tell how the lighting would play out in the room, but someone answered that Q in a review here. The lighting didn't seem to match the decor, but we thought perhaps they served as "stars" and were subtle. I guess not. Food and service was excellent. The details show the true nature of the chef's philosophy & this was executed with precision and splendor. Wine pairings were excellent.
Service was excellent. Dining room lights too bright, eliminating a romantic ambiance. Food was good but did not stand up to the reviews. Wine list vintages not up to date.
A truly outstandind dining experience.
This is what fine dining is supposed to be: innovative cuisine, perfectly presented, graciously served, with a view of the harbor that just adds to the romance. Caviar topped oysters, perfectly chilled; tarragon jumbo shrimp; black grouper Quinoa, a perfect swordfish filet, and wine to match the dish, if one desires. The nut tasting dessert was amazing. Not overpriced for this kind of a meal, with a staff that even knows to not rattle dishes.
The staff was very friendly and the menu a bit unsual (sorted and based on the kind of wine that should be drank with the dish). Then we ordered some nicely described dishes, but the food was so far from the expectations, that it was borderline criminal. Food was at best bland. Not bad, but not worth $17 for a small plate or $34 for a regular. A quiche at "Sel de la terre" ($12 for brunch) had so much more flavor that all the food we had here
