I've had better Italian food on a cruise ship. This place doesn't suck, but it is nothing to write home about. I don't know how they got such a high score. It's generic Americanized "Italian" food. A trattoria is an authentic Italian restaurant which serves simple, authentic Italian food, and there is nothing authentic about this place. If you are content with mediocrity, then go for it -- you probably will enjoy it.
Have no idea how this place has such high ratings. A decent place for Italian in Wallingford, but nothing spectacular. Serving slightly better than the standard Italian fare, this restaurant is good but not great. Service is usually spotty at best. Please invest in some improvements that eliminate the musty smell that detracts from the food.
When Olive Garden or Carrabba's is better than a restaurant that has gotten a 24 BE AWARE!!! The sign above the door was faded and cracked........not a good way to start. I would have left, but we needed to eat before a concert at Oakdale and didn't have time to find anyplace else. This no more deserves a 24 than Burger King does..........
Should have walked out when ignored by staff. Chef was still planning specials when arriving-would be duck but prep was uncertain. Food was edible but not special. While rated most romantic, decor was poor. The worst part was watching everyone's plates pass by a curtain that separated the dining room from entry. It was filthy!!! At the end of a glass of wine residue was found on glass. Ours were half full others full must have had end of bottle.
Very cool little place ina very nice location in Walingford, Connecticut. This place has a "Tuscan Pub" feel to it. The food is good and consistent. The bar is always crowded and the place seems to have a lot of regulars. What I found most interesting about the place is that the owner is always there and always mingling with the crowd. I have dined here about six times now. I would recommend!
