7 tables, 6 kitchen counter seats. Ryan works kitchen with 1 other cook, that's it. He and hostess Kelleanne very sociable. Small but terrific wine list is fairly priced. The rabbit appetizer was a biscuits and gravy play, whimsical, very tasty. Then the smoked pork chop with collards, beans, and a peanut-sriracha sauce was outstanding, very manly. Great if you have a late flight at Bradley. Rivals Still River for best country restaurant in CT.
Fabulous place. Great use of old mill location and ingenious partitioning to lower noise level. Inventive menu, great execution, reasonable corkage.policy. Best meal we have had in over 20 years in CT. Aweome desserts. look to make your reservations weeks in advance
We started out sharing the celery root soup, delicious, the touch of Tasso ham gave it a nice accent. Next was the yellowfin tuna, the white anchovies accompanying the dish made for a special treat. I would have liked a bolder sauce with the tamale but it was still good. We finished with the Veal loin and the John Dory. The fried polenta and smoked corn relish really complimented the dory. Everything was delicious. NY dining in Connecticut!
Food was interesting, funky and amazing. The Chef/owner was a pleasure, the room was beautiful, the wine selection was clever. Our new favorite restaurant. I can't help but gush about it to people, but I also want to keep it a secret. So torn!
Simple and superbly seasoned food is well worth the drive to the tiny dining room out in the sticks. The ever-changing menu will has outstanding surprises such as braised veal cheeks that were tender as any meat ever tasted. Homemade chocolate covered oreos are a nice take home treat offered with the check.
