The Hamptons go Zagreb in a most delightful and toothsome way, all to the entertaining chatter of the proprietress, effortless making the beautiful and tanned feel welcome and at home. On a recent visit our calamari was exquisite, as were the tiny baked littlenecks. The pappardelle with short rib ragu was to die for (one actually might), as was the duck breast; the angel hair pasta was a lesson in simplicity. Mirko's is a gem.
This past Saturday I had an awful experiance at Mirkos. I arrived on time for our reservation. We were told our table was being set. Another party arrived after us and was immediately taken to their table in the main dining room. We were then escorted to an outside table. I had not specified on my open table reservation to sit inside. The weather was cool and misty. I asked for another table . I was told by the owner take it or leave it.
service for regulars is superior.
My favorite restaurant on long Island. Ilene is a terrific hostess and Mirko is the best chef
