Everything you would expect from a well rated French restaurant - had salmon with risotto and was tasty and cooked to perfection!
CHG hits another home run with the Provençal themed Mistral. The crab ravioli, sirloin and salmon are among their best dishes. The attentive servers make up for the guaranteed wait you will have even with a reservation. This institution for epicureans boasts prices fitting for their nouveau riche clientele.
The chef blew hot and cold last night. My wife loved the fois gras with duck confit and the Scottish salmon with celery root puree and baby artichoke hearts. I was unimpressed with the tuna tartare in a ginger and soy sauce(way too weak and tasteless) and the pan roasted halibut with Maine lobster & red beet risotto (just did not work together). The staff was profusely apologetic and comped dessert (profiteroles-fantastic). Service was excellent
Mistral may have been around for awhile and for a good reason. The food is always great and so is the service. I confess, I am a sucker for the Dover Sole. Whenever I dine at Mistral, I wonder why I had not come back earlier.
Heavenly. Maybe the best service in Boston?
