Just plain great food. Everything we ate was delicious.
We went to MK for the first time yesterday. Both my mother and I had the lobster-whitefish dish, and we had an extreme case of food poisoning the following morning. I have spent all day trying to recover from eating that lobster, which had a strange taste. We know that the lobster was the cause because my father was fine, and he had had everything that we ate besides the lobster. Would not recommend to anyone.
Decided to try MK trip to Chicago. It was worth the visit on a freezing Chicago night. We love the interior. Great service by waiters. Our starters of octopu and endive salad were very tasty. And the bread servered to french syte butter was difficutl to put down. My veal chop entree was amazing. My wife had the salmon dish, but, it was a bit fishy. Very nice wine list. No room for dessert. We will definate go back!
Cannot quibble with the numerical rating of this restaurant; fabulous chorizo & pear amuse-bouche, arugula salad at the same level. The swordfish was sublime and the complimentary postprandial pastry (in this case cookies) was perfect.
Good as the food, however, the service from Sommelier, Paul, Manager, Angie and
waiters Sergio and Scott was so warm and professional that MK is going to be our new Chicago-default-stop. ps: DO sit upstairs!
Tuna tartare with celery root remoulade was a terrific combination of flavors, textures and colors. The arctic char was superb. We sat on the main level and the service was excellent. The wine list was quite good
