Wasn't impressed at all. 1/2 the pizza was burnt black to the point of being uneatable. Mentioned this to the waitress and the only offer was to credit the two beers we had with the pizza. We ate the 'other' half, which was good.
I will not go back and will not recommend Modern Pizza to anyone. Way too many other great pizza places in New Haven/West Haven to have to put up with 1/2 a totally black burnt pizza!

New Haven Pizza is the best in the country. One can not say that one Pizza restaurant is better than another because they are distinctively different. Modern is at the top of the list as the others. The quality of the food and service is always stellar and I will continue to frequent them.

It's a very good pie, close to the Wooster three and BAR, but for my money not quite as good. In any other city other than New Haven (the US capitol of pizza) it would be completely amazing and overran with lines. The pizza can be a bit overly salty depending on the ingrediants you choose, but fortunately the beer pitchers are not too pricey.

best pizza in the state. Meatball za with a root beer every time. Better than waiting in line at Sallys or Pepes while 'regulars' slip through the back door. Is there anything worse than a pizza joint that lets customers trump the lines? I'll stick with Modern and their no nonsense approach. By the way plenty of parking on side streets without the hype of wooster street
