I'm not sure what the hype is about...sure, it's cheap, but so what? I guess it depends if you're happy with "Friendly's" caliber or not. The home fries were nothing to write home about, and the omelette (jambalya) was ok, but nothing special. Coffee is extremely weak.(coffee shop?)One reviewer mentioned that portions are HUGE, can't fit on the plates...is it possible that it's due to small plates? Yep. On the plus side, the atmosphere was cute.
After 15 years of going to Moe's it continues to be a part of my repertoire of must-visit favorites. Order any of the pancakes, (apple walnut is the best though) and/or one of the Moe family specials with big sides of hunky home fries and you will be one happy camper. The only non-savory item is the coffee - it's typical diner coffee, watery and largely unsatisfying. Other than that, the choice is yours and it is YUMMY! The decor is not important here, neither are the lines on a weekend morning or the way we have to pack all our friends into a booth. It's Moe's and we're happy to be there.
Great pancakes; friendly service; lines on the weekend; shabby decor; good value.
