I ate here when it was the Federalist and it was great. Now it looks generic, the wine list used to be great now is just plain suburbia boring (with Manhattan prices) and the food is nothing you haven't had at other steak-houses. Why eat here? Well the service is as good if not better than before and if you are staying at the XV Beacon and it's raining hard (or snowing) outside you don't have to leave the hotel to spend a lot of cash on a forgettable meal.

Complete amateur hour on my bday. We arrived 15 min early & checked in. Told we'd have to wait as expected. After 45 mins at the bar, I asked the hostess for an update. She replied, "oh, your table's been ready." Then she said, "well aren't you going to finish your wine?" And I replied, "yes, and you can bring our bottle to the table for us." During meal brought me wrong steak. The waiter and then the manager acted like it was my fault.
