We dined at Mother Anna's last night-9/29/06 and were pleasantly surprised. Other restaurants in the North End had a 1-2 hour wait, but we got a table at Mother Annas quickly. The outside area had beautiful views of Boston and the food and service was excellent. Food was reasonably priced and sangria was very good, ($29 pitcher). The chicken/eggplant parmesean ($16) was dellicious! My husband had a seafood dish that was very good. The inside decor was nothing to brag about--weather permitting, I recommend the patio dining. The portions were large. Give it a try--you'll be surprised too!

  • Located in the North End (Little Italy to the out-of-towners) this family-owned italian restaurant is fantastic. The food was delicious, plentiful, and priced well. the service was top notch. The interior left something to be desired, but the exterior seating gives a spectacular view of North End Park and the city skyline.

  • Great, family-owned restaurant in the North End. The chicken parm is the best I've ever had (the portion is enormous) - the gravy is perfect. The shrimp exquisito, chicken creation, and eggplant rollatini are also quite delicious. We bring out of towners here all the time and they rave about the food. Very casual and comfortable for family dining.

  • This is the most reasonably priced restaurant in the North End. The food is authentic Italian American and reminds me of Sunday dinners at my grandma's house.

  • Mother Anna's is an icon in the North End, and the food lives up to that. The ghnocci is unbelievably good and the portions are quite generous. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the outdoor patio is the perfect treat for the nice weather.
