  • We found Nellie Green's this morning- Sunday for breakfast- and thought it was wonderful. We ate outdoors on their deck overlooking the boats on the river. The food was cooked to perfection, very fairly priced and the wait staff - especially our waitress Colleen- was very attentive. The breakfast menu offers a good selection and we found quite a few reasons to go back. The restaurant is hidden away behind a warehouse/marina at 50 Maple Street in Branford.

  • Delicious food in a relaxing setting. Each of the four of us thought our food selection was first rate, including the desserts. The evening we were there had live music. The musicians were excellent but we couldn't easily converse with our friends. So check ahead if that matters to you. All the desserts were great but the lime tart was tiny. Our waitress was attentive without being annoying. We're looking forward to going back.

    Live music drew us to Nellie Green's. Better than pub food and better than the menu indicates. A little difficult to find. Plus the kitchen was very accommodating of my special dietary needs. What a pleasant surprise. Don't depend on maps; phone for explicit directions. You must dine on the patio if you want to hear the music.

  • Wow! is the only way to describe this river side restaurant. The d?cor is casual, with a unique blend of bistro selections on the menu. My family and I really enjoyed the mussel appetizer, and the skewered shrimp with a sweet and spicy tapenade. As far as entrees we loved them all! But the scallops were the best. The service was fantastic and friendly. Hats of to the chef for a job well done, haven’t had food like that since I lived in the city!
