The best sushi restaurant in Boston. The best restaurant in Boston! Tim Cushman is one of the most creative, incentive chefs you'll ever meet. As surprising as it might seem, this place is actually worth the price. Even if you can only go once in your life, do it.
O ya is hands-down my favorite restaurant in all of Boston. With steep prices and mostly two to three pieces per order (ranging from $8-38, with an exception of the $189.99 eight-ounce wagyu beef striploin), it is definitely a place for celebrations. Located in the small Leather District of Boston, Tim and Nancy Cushman have been dazzling diners since 2007. Pictures here: http://molltk3.blogspot.com/2012/11/boston-restaurants-o.html
I visited recently as I had read rave reviews about the restaurant despite it's seemingly expensive nature, there were two of us eating and we both left reasonably full for what we ordered, despite the canape sized courses. We opted for a la carte and I can say without any shadow of a doubt it's the best food I've ever eaten. The stand out dish for me being the scarlet scallop with tobiko.
An amazing meal, fit for special occasions. Each small plate was perfect, and we wanted to repeat each one, until the next one came out, and then we wanted that one again.
Just had our third visit to O Ya, this time with our kids, 9 and 11, for a special occasion. We all loved it. Admittedly, these kids are foodies, but really you don't have to be a sushi lover to love this place. Sitting at the sushi bar watching the chefs craft every little bite was interesting and entertaining. Overall pleasant vibe. Our server had great suggestions from the menu and the kitchen carefully accomodated our sons sesame allergy.
