This used to be a great spot with a wonderful beer selection but something gone terribly wrong with their cooking where quantity has replaced quality. We ordered mixed salad (very good), Schweizer Schnitzel (greasy, not much taste) and Sauerbraten which is supposed to be made with a slice of well marinated beef. We instead got what looked like multiple thin slices of roastbeef in a sauce with little to no taste. Sorry but we are not going back.
The worst German food I ever had. I used to work at an amazing German restaurant in NJ, and this does not compare one bit. I wanted to cry, that's how awful my schnitzle was... Even the salad sampler was a disaster... all the flavors blended into one, and it made me lose my appetite... A sampler should be various different salads in separate little compartments so they don't mix.... Don't waste your money here! Such a disappointment! :(
This place is a hidden gem. Great food, decor is lovely and service is spot on. New Years eve is such fun with live music.
What happened to this absolute gem ? This was such a treat and the only place for miles to get authentic German food. Food quality has taken a serious dive since the management change about two months ago. Menu choices have also changed as have quantities. I live a good forty miles away, but was willing to take the drive for the excellent meal and unique experience, but not if the old magic doesnt reappear. Management - please take note.
Very authentic food.
