We recently returned here. Menu has been severely truncated and is unappealingly presented. Don't know if classic "Chinese Restaurant" non-menu items are easily available but the limited choices on the home-printed menus certainly put a damper on the experience. The food was still better than the run-of-the-mill strip-mall Chinese but in no way does it rate a 27. I would give it a 20 to 22 after several visits in the last few months.
Certainly a big step up from the average strip center Chinese, but if you think this place compares to Chinatown or Flushing you need to travel west more. Cold noodles not bad for a Cantonese restaurant. Soft shelled crab had way too much breading and was oily. I had to ask for chop sticks. Jammed on a Thursday night. So somebody likes it.
Excellent Chinese food. Get there early as parking can be tough. As someone mentioned, no brown rice and the rice bowls can be much bigger. They give about an ice cream scoop size of rice. I needed 5 more!! If I had to choose between the two best Chinese restaurants on LI, Fortune Wheel would be my first choice for food but the Orient for a nicer setting. Glad to have both available though
Love the food....love the service.....LOVE THE BYOB!!!!!!
guess what!!!!!!! They don't serve BROWN RICE!!!!!!!!!
This is an outstanding example of fine Chinese dining. A varied and diverse menue with creative specials. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Starting with soup to appetizers to main dishes you are really in for a treat. We would love for them to open another location in the Babylon area!
