After having eaten at Pamplemousse in Del Mar yesterday,we never thought we would have a better meal. Were we wrong.Our meal was better at Paon. Yes better. The English pea soup was amazing.Don't think split pea soup.The quail was the best we have ever eaten.The owner, Steve was a wealth of information about wines. Indeed the wine he suggeted was not only excellent but reasonably priced.We have eaten in some of the best and this is one.

We love this restaurant. It is a real bonus for Carlsbad. The food always top quality ingredients, innovative preparation, and beautifully served. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed that they are advertising incorrect hours. The restaurant actually closes at 9pm on weeknights.

Very nice dining experience. Nice neighborhood bistro feel, with very good food. Extremely pleasant staff and patio dining.

if you stay away from the risotto (they have no clue what a risotto is: wrong rice, wrong cooking time, no parmigiano, lots of vegetables in it) you can eat well. Rather noisy
