The first restaurant I visited in Connecticut in which I had absolutely no disappointments. Compare it to what you would expect at Lupa or Babo in Manhattan! Perfectly prepared dishes from fresh ingredients and service to match. An absolute gem in the Avon/Hartford area.
Papacelle is a rare find, offering fine Italian cuisine, great service and a dining space that includes an outdoor patio with fountains during the spring, summer and fall months. The menu selection varies with the seasons and the pasta and risotto specials are among the best I have ever had. I recently had a dish of magltaglie, strips of pasta with clams and fresh fish that was comparable to anything I have had in Italy. This place is a must try!
The food and service were excellent. I liked the wine menu also.
The menu changes with the seasons as it would in Italy where chefs are cued into not only the changing bounty but also what the soul craves given the weather! Excellent service which is professional and friendly, soothing decor and food that is a treat to the palate make for an overall wonderful experience.
My fiance and I have visited Papacelle twice now and have had great experiences on both occasions. On our last visit we both got the grass fed beef tenderloin as our entree and house made ricotta and I think she got sopprassata. Everything we ate was fantastic and I particularly like the fact that the restaurant makes it a point to source as much of its food as locally as possible.
