This is the best italjan restaurant in nyc
Went for special dinner & regretted the choice...nothing special except the Marilyn Monroe room decor is unique. Very poor inattentive service, never given a wine list for dinner! Chose a glass of Cav Sav, poor quality...the Martini was excellent and the food as expected. The bread bowl is terrific as was the aged cheese. It's not a bad place just not superb for a major occassion. Arrived at 5:30 place was empty, left at 9:30 place was packed!
ITS AN OLD TIME PLACE IN QUEENS, GOOD FOOD ,GOOD VIBES & VALET PARKING
Valet parking, nice decor, great bread basket selection. Yes it's red sauce heaven, but no choice of salad dressing, only marinara or tomato sauce on sides of pasta is a little behind the times. Two of the four meals were cold and had to be sent back. The penne was too undercooked and went back.Service took forever on a Thursday night, we arrived @ 5:00 PM. At end we decided that we should have gone elsewhere. No one asked if we enjoyed.
Always terrific. A super value.
