I regret dining at Peppercorn. It was my first & last visit. I have dined a several other decent restaurants in Hartford and I visited Peppercorn based on good reviews from Zagat. The review are dreadfully misguided. The food is at best average, the decor is tired & borders on distasteful. But most disappointing is the service. I ordered the food & it was brought to my table.But that was it. For an above average price the service is below average
I am so embarrassed to have brought my family to celebrate with me when then meal was virtually inedible and disappointing. When we arrived for our reservation we were told that the valet did not come in for work and that we would have to find a place to park ourselves. No easy in your part of Hartford. We were then seated at a table for six in the corner, where we promptly found three dirty napkins on our chairs. We went to order drinks. The

The evening started out great with good food and a great wine selection. However, we were slightly taken aback by the extremely strong odor of bleach disinfectant that kept permeating the atmosphere as the evening went on. It unfortunately spoiled our enjoyment of dessert and that last glass of wine....
Excellent, authentic Italian fare. Long daily specials menu based on available ingredients. Best osso bucco in the area. Try the pasta or rissotto specials. If you are very lucky white truffles will be in season and you can enjoy homemade pasta with whie truffle-to die for!
