This is an unique restaurant in that it is an interpertation of Latin fare with an ecclectic twist. Many dishes are blends of different styles of food. The chef is very creative. The owner who is almost always on the premises keeps the place running smoothly. She also makes everyone feel like friends. The first time I went, I felt like I had been going there all my life. They have no problems adjusting there pre planned dinners to accomodate.
I have been coming to this restaurant since it's inception and I have never been disappointed. The service is always friendly and very knowledgeable. The drinks are strong and tasty and the food is phenomenal. I'd recommend the tilapia with the amazing black rice. My wife had the skirt steak with the latin fried rice and finished the whole plate. On top of it all there was free live music which only added to the whole experience. Will be back.
Chef Del Lima is no longer there.......Newsday considers this a no-star restaurant right now until it gets re-reviewed. Last time we were there we were extremely disappointed in both the food, service and management! We will not be returning...too bad because this place was great early on.
I have been there several times and loved it. I went back there for my daughters birthday on Saturday 9/6 and the service was terrible. We ordered the mussels and there wasn't enough broth. We ordered tuna cooked more well than rare without mango. It came with mango and was rare. The waitress told us that's the way the cook makes it and he would not cook it any other way. Anyway let's hope the next time we go there we will have better luck.
the skirt steak was very tough, the next time we go back we will order something different and we will go back.. the service was great...
