The food was sub par in view of the 26 published rating. Staff were unfriendly and curt while service was slow. I would not recommend considering the poor price to value and unfriendly staff.
These guys made me laugh! Honestly, I've never seen such a behavior from top-class restaurants (at least how owners Kerri and Marc position their place). For totally ruined dinner, owners via e-mail offered to send us $50 CERTIFICATE! That amount doesn't cover the cost of the dinner for one person without alcohol! Essentially it looks like: OK, you spend a lot for totally ruined dinner, but come to see us again and you'll spend a bit less.
We enjoyed the warmth of this lovely French restaurant. The staff was friendly, as well as professional. The dishes are uniquely prepared and plated. The wine list prices are very reasonable. We loved the Cream of Rutabaga Soup, Farmer’s Market Field Greens Salad, Pigalle’s Cassoulet of Confit Duck Leg, Mini Créme Brûlée with House Made Cookies, Panna Cotta with Strawberries Three Ways. The 5-course Prix Fixe menu is a good buy.
Pigalle is a Boston favorite for quiet, elegant dining. Most recently, I had the prix fixe roasted salmon over coucous - crispy/ savory exterior that captured tender salmon, matched nicely w/ coucous and mussels for a symphony of texture and taste. The duet terrine and apple popover w/ sorbet contrast served as marvelous bookends. Wines by the glass - well above expectation. Vistalba Malbec matched the salmon & Prum Kabinett capped dessert.
Warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was impressive how well the staff worked together . . . no such thing as "not my table"
Can be noisy on weekends
