Actual quality of the food is average at best. Menu reads much better than the reality.
Although the food was good and the staff attentive on an busy Thursday night; the acoustics were really loud. The bar area is close to the dining area and the volume level was too loud to conduct a conversation. It's also very dark even though it was still light outside.
Son of "Rocco's"and looking very much like Dad. The menu has been lightened with more appetizers and lower prices. It serves a purpose in New Canaan, casual, medium priced and with a nice big bar. If you avoid the children's hour, you can have a pleasant evening.
Recently changed menus and ambiance to attract younger, more social crowd. Much better selecion of food and wine.
We were pleasantly surprised that the owners pulled off this turn-around from the former Rocco's, which was not working. The new chef is a hit, and atmosphere is more open and improved. Way to go.
