I had heard both good and disappointing reviews about Pizza D.O.C. for years from folks who had been there. Note that I am not some Chicago deep-dish yokel, and that I really wanted to like it.
The service is welcoming, capable and efficient, but count me among the disappointed who finds that—for all that may be good about the place— their pizza —its cardboard crust heavily loaded with cheese— just doesn't measure up.
