I have spent hundreds of dollars with this restaurant in the past 90 days.
They lack consistency in food quality and portion size.
Case in point, I've ordered their Shrimp Scampi a few times and on 2 occsassions, the shrimp had a "mold" flavor.
Some times the Arriabata sauce is delicious and sometimes it is so hot, that it is unedible.
Sometimes the cannolis are full and sometimes, they just fill the ends.
Delivery is inconsistent too....
Food is mediocre at best. Don't like their red sauce. Pizza crust is tasteless. Service is spotty. Nice decor for this strip mall setting pizza joint.
Although I have not been to this location, the owner is a cousin of the Cos Cob location owners and was the Cos Cob pizza maker for many years before opening The Fairfield location. This is an Arthur Avenue family from the Bronx and is the gold standard. The only thing they don't have is the brick oven. The quality is as good as there is. I urge folks to try it and review it.
Forget about the famous places. Pizza Post has the best personal pizzas in Fairfield. A little hole-in-the wall in a strip mall in front of Kohl's, it has consistently good food --- all kinds of Italian dishes and salads, in addition to pizza. And they serve wine and beer!
