As a former Brooklyn resident, I can tell you this is as close to brilliant Brooklyn style pizza as you can possibly get without riding the subway. The crust is perfectly crispy and chewy. The mozz is fresh and mild. The sauce is thick and perfectly seasoned. A plain pizza is still a joy, but the more gourmet offerings shouldn't be missed.

The modest, soft-spoken owner, Michael Lauretano, has created a bit of a miracle here. Once you find the place, hidden in a plain little shopping center, you enter and immediately feel that there's a vision being realized. Lovely work by local artists on the walls, high-quality jazz playing softly, and then the ridiculously good pizza. It truly puts New Haven's more famous pizza joints to shame.
