Perhaps a bit overrated, but how good can pizza be? Mine could have been cooked a little better to achieve a crispier crust, though overall, I had a good experience at the old original, located slightly off the beaten North End path —a virtue, perhaps. The waitresses were mostly no-nonsense but not no-warmth. In fact there was a bit of annoying, infantilizing congratulations on finishing. I would have just preferred straight no nonsense.
Our first visit, we were very impressed. Pizza was excellent, thin crispy crust east to eat with hands even with loaded toppings. We sat at the bar, service was very attentive, friendly at the bar. Atmosphere is classic pizza joint. Not sure why this scored poorly for decor, again it is a classic pizza joint, nothing fancy. We will certainly be going back, best pizza so far for us.
Like a family reunion if you had an Italian family. Incredible pizza, excellent service (remember...you're part of the family so don't expect deferential/VIP), priceless atmosphere (pictures, Sinatra, smells & background buzz). Regina's is the one "must stop" each time we visit our son in Boston.
This is the best pizza. Ever. Not just in Boston. The mellanzan eggplant pizza is melt in your mouth perfection. Expect long waits at lunch time and enjoy the brusqueness of the waitresses as part of the "chahm".
Huge pizzas and great location in north end.
