best Italian in Little Italy.
Hearty fare brings us back every Thursday when we also enjoy live music and half price wine.
Expensive steak house, decent food, but lousy service.
Service harried and only one server for entire restaurant. Food mostly OK. Bruschetta with eggplant and spices excellent. Pastas cooked from al dente to downright mushy. Nice marinara sauces. Passable calamari. Jumbo shrimp with linguini nice too. Over-priced cocktails and on the small side. Limited wine list. Many better Italian restaurants in San Diego. Mediocre at best.
This used to be my favorite San Diego Italian, but on the basis of two recent visits I have to take it down a notch. It's a lovely room, a dark, sexy very Italian ambience. I almost always get the pasta with Sunday Sauce---made with three different kinds of meat--meatballs,short ribs, and sausage. But the last few times it was not up to par. It's still a lovely place to sip red wine, and whisper sweet words to the lovely face across the table
