Years ago I wrote: ".. a kitchen that makes .. fresh ingredients taste unmemorable. One returns... at long intervals... hopeful that they've hired a stellar chef... but to date... NOT what SHOULD be a fantastic fish restaurant."
Now, the kitchen has improved - many dishes were fine; however requesting medium rare swordfish proved too hard for the kitchen to achieve despite two attempts. The service was affable & enthusiastic but unprofessional
Why fish when you have Riverbay. Great raw bar, nice shellfish and pleasant wait staff make for a wonderful seafood experience.
My standby favorite seafood restaurant when ever I am visiting Long Island. Fresh raw bar and excellent fresh seafood. Nantucket scallops special were exquisite.
Probably the best seafood restaurant on Long Island. Always fresh and well prepared. It gets crowded, but if you go early, there's little or no wait. Service can be spotty, but generally is good. We had one bad experience when we called from the road for a reservation and then the greeter gave us a hard time (in spite of many empty tables), but that was a one time thing and didn't keep us away from several more visits for the great food.
