Was really looking forward to the quiche, but it was not good. Bread was ordinary, very surprising at a French Bistro. DH thought his steak was really good, mine was chewy. Frites were nice and crunchy. Nothing special--feel very spoiled by experience at Bistro Cassis.
The escargots are forgettable, but the mussels mariniere is excellent. coq au vin was not bad. I wouldn't recommend the bouiliabaisse to anyone. The best main course is canard l'orange. It's a wow dish. I thought the creme brulee was nothing special, but the caramel cheese cake was really good. This place is worth going back.
This has become our new favorite French Bistro. The food is excellent, with a large and tasty, menu, with service to match. Their always changing specials menu is worth a taste and highly recommended. If you like French cuisine, this is the place to go for a terrific experience.
You'll want to get the duck out of here, but it's much more likely that you'll consume it all while you're here. Pignoli crusted tuna is outstanding, as is the attentive wait staff.
WOW! Best bouillibaise I've ever eaten. Classy restaurant done right! Bellmore restaurant is also great, but Woodbury is the place to go. Way better than Cassis...........
