  • Writing this review is discouraging for I really wanted to like Salpicon. I love great Mexican food and the idea of a wine pairing was intriguing if the food was good. But alas, an argumentative waiter who kept telling us "You don't want to order that!", a kitchen error (the appetizer that never arrives), and poor sauce pairing with the foods we did have means we will not be going back. On the positive, very good guacamole & an amazing wine list.

  • Absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in town. Ask for the sorbet even if you don't see it on the menu.

  • Salpicon is consistently my favorite gourmet Mexican restaurant in Chicago. I love to start with Chef Priscila's soups and then order from the specials part of the menu, which is updated at least monthly. The Margarita's are the BEST we have tasted in Chicago, with freshly squeezed lime juice daily. I highly recommend Salpicon if you love gourmet Mexican cuisine.

Love the colorful decor and flavorful food! Huge wine list and wine room on the second floor, only wished they served the food hotter (temperature) not spice
