Over-priced, non-authentic Vietnamese food.Go uptown instead.
Was very surprised. Everything ordered was tasty and fresh. And they did the upscale thing well - not like Anna's or whatever the name of that new place is on Lake Street that serves 500 dishes and none of them well, plus it stinks like mold in there. I hope Sawtooth gets busier and sticks around.
Food was fine, but I wasn't blown away. The place definitely goes for style over substance. You'd get better Vietnamese food on Argyle Street.
Our experience at sawtooth was pleasant, allowing us to enjoy the good company of friends. While the value is good (main dishes ~ $15, starters ~ $8), the quality and flavors are inconsistent and volatile.

Excellent decor. Authentic Vietnamese food. Try the Spicy Papaya salad and Clay pot catfish. An attractive staff that provides attentive service. Moderately priced.
