Rustic, warehouse atmosphere, can be loud if they have some large birthday groups, which seems to be a lot. Food still very good, but seems to have more and heavier sauces than a year ago. And our server was distracted and less knowledgeable (got two of the orders wrong). Scallops were swimming in the corn curry stew. My filet Oscar style likewise was heavy with the sauce. My wife liked the trout (no heavy sauce), but short on the crabmeat.
Second time at this restaurant and although we were impressed the first time, this time it was even better. Excellent food, excellent decor, excellent service. Only surprise was that is was a Friday night and it was not packed - it certainly should be as it is one of the best in Atlanta !
The food here is very good - one of my favorites in the veal porterhouse. When I was there last week, they had a venison entree that was outstanding. The service is sometimes extremely slow, and the speed of the service doesn't seem to be related to the size of the crowd. The drink menu is interesting, and the concoctions are quite tasty.
Good food, though the portions can be on the small side. Service is iffy-one visit you may have a great server, then the next visit you may be ignored while the servers laugh amongst themselves.
My first meal here was the closest to perfection I've enjoyed at an Atlanta restaurant since I moved here in 1983. Among the items I've eaten here that had no room for improvement: the duck rolls, the fried oysters, the (rather eccentric) salmon chips, the beet salad, the trout, the pork chop. Only thing I'd change here: the slightly papery brioche rolls. Elsewise, Serpas is plated greatness.
