Restaurant was cold. Food was cold. Ordered scallops some like it hot. Asked for spicy. The dish came out cold with no jalapeños. Which was an important ingredient. I said there were no jalapeños so they brought me cold, uncooked jalapeños. Steak was way undercooked and the hummus is not good anymore. Very disappointed. Won't be going back. And we used to eat there often. So sad!
Great food, the best humus around, some very inventive and tasty dishes and a friendly owner and staff keep us coming back to this slightly off the wall restaurant. One of our favorites.
My experience at this restaurant was iffy. The food was great, and the majority of the staff was very nice and appealing, all except for this one girl whose name I believe was carrie. She was extremely rude and a horrible waitress. Unfortunately I have had her as my waitress twice and both times she was slow, rude, and seemed to have a bad attitude. Me and a couple other customers around me had all complained about her, but for some reason she is still employed. Basically my experience there was all in all pretty good, except for her, which left me a bad taste in my mouth about ever going back there again.
Shabby, grimy menus, junk-shop decor and otherwise preoccupied servers can't ruin good food. And Sesame Seed has fresh, tasty food with a limited selection of Middle Eastern standards and a mishmash of fish, chicken and pasta dishes on a separate menu. Worth a try, but hopefully you won't be in a hurry. Portions could be larger, but prices are reasonable for what you get.
Still unique after all these years. Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
