One of those old Southampton restaurants which has gone downhill over the years. I've been going there for over fifteen years and slthough many of the custoners are old timers who go there out of habil I realized the last time we went was really the last time we will go back ,although we may go back to have a drink at the bar and order some chopped chicken livers. Wine list is one step above Thunderbird.

Specializes in German food which is only fai r although the portions are more then ample. Soups are generally good. Bread basket is mundane. Decor is 50s but comfortable. Wine list is very run of the road.

  • Interesting combination of Southampton old money and locals who go for the steaks and seafood. Nothing fancy, just old style cooking that rarely dissapoints yet never surprises. Big on German specialities. Very large beer selection. Friendly wait staff that always seems a little rushed. Make a reservation for weekend nights

  • Genius. Old-school, fraying-at-the-seams, simplistic, genius. Head on in to hang with the two groups of people that go here: locals and older trust funders that don't care about the scene or being seen. Check out the decor (and some patrons) that's been the same since 1968.Steaks are absolutely delicious. The filet mignon is fantastic.

  • Great for juicy steaks and authentic German fare. An institution to be recommended for anyone craving a low key and hearty meal.
