The humble exterior leads to a pleasant surprise when you open the door. Quaint, and very Spanish decor. The back of the restaurant is like a covered patio. Very romantic. The owner seemed disconnected from his clientele... or maybe just a plain old 'Machista MadrileƱo'. The Pulpo Gallego was awesome, as was the cheese and meat platter... yum... membrillo. The fried smelt was bland and unpleasant. Overall a good experience, though.
"Nice place and very tasty. Happy hour menu with a number of excellent items for only $2.00 Monday-Thursday (till 7:00).The address is actually 2207 Allen Street, not 2297."
