I had been here a few times, but quite frankly I was disappointed this time around. Something has been lost. Owner who is maƮtre de and waiter seemed bored and disinterested which I guess is reflected in the food. Squid dish I had was tough as was the fried calamari appetizer. With that said I would still go back as it is the only game around.
A very idiosyncratic version of Thai food in a dining room presided over by a a domineering martinet who recites the menu at a length approaching the Odyssey
I don't think this place deserves a food 28. The appetizers are good, but the soup is Ok. I would expect much more flavor for a 28 food soup. The tom yung goong soap is way too sour and too much fish sauce in the soup. We ordered a whole fish. All they did to the whole fish is deeply fried with some sweet spicy source on the top, nothing special. We also had beef curry. The beef is over cooked and very hard to chew. I would give a 18 on the food
Nothing to look at but the authentic Thai food is out of this world. Owner is very pleasant. Service can be slow at times so be patient. Tip: the Native Thai spice level is not for the faint of heart.
The Thai food at Siam Lotus Thai was superb and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the staff was very attentive and responded promptly to our needs. My only criticism is that we visited the restaurant during the winter, and the temperature in the restaurant was very cold. Other than that, it was a delightful dining experience.
