This is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant in Stamford, or for that matter most anywhere outside of Italy. The staff is highly attentive, but not aggressive. The surroundings are cozy, with a beautiful hand-painted ceiling of sky and clouds, but I agree it could use some sound dampeners. The food, oh the food--so wonderful and tasty. I could live on the white bean and olive oil dip with their crusty bread alone! But each dish is delectable!
Excellent food, good service and a comprehensive wine list make Sienna a great spot for lunch or dinner. Prices are above median for the area and the restaurant is very noisy when busy.
I have dined at Siena several times. It's a safe bet for a quality meal. The preparation is flavorful. The interior is intimate although it can get noisy since there is no fabric or acoustical buffering to absorb sound. Staff has always been attentive.
Could not talk to the person sitting next to me. What is the point of that. Food is ok but not great.
Go early for very good Italian. Go with earplugs after 7
