After having lived in South Florida for nearly 20 years, I had been hearing about the Silver Pond for much of that time. To be brief, the food was exquisite and comparable to the finest Asian cuisine I have had. The service was disappointing, actually it was horrible. I will never return, & I will never have anything positive to say about the place. I wrote out my feelings on the bill, but doubt anything will come from it. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!
I do not like Chinese food anymore haven't since I stopped going to Chinatown in NYC, where I did love it. However the food at the silver pond is a close and authentic as the way they served it on bayard st. 50 years ago. As a result I eat no Chinese food unless I am in so. Fla. At the silver pond. Also being a new yorke, I do not believe in anyway the servers are rude, they are just serious and Chinese. As Americans we should be more patient ,ma
We went because of the reviews saying it is authentic food but the rudeness of the wait staff and the quality of the food do not measure up. The food is oily, feels like loaded with MSG, far from authentic.
I hope that authentic Chinese at this particular place does not include dirty, rude attitude and shellfish on a meat dish!!
We have been to this place twice - this was the first and last!
This food is authentic Chinese with a strong influence from Hong Kong. The local Asian population frequents this restaurant, which is a vote of confidence. The portions are large and easily shared by 2 or 3.
Very reasonable chinatown chinese, excellent.
