Just throw out you're backyard grill, and go to Smokin' Al's. From the burnt ends and haystack onions, to the smoked chicken and baby back ribs, everything is cooked and seasoned to perfection. There's a reason there are rolls of paper towels on the table instead of napkins... You've just got to dive in. Excellent attention to detail with every dish they serve. From the music and ambiance to the energy and great food, an indulgent experience.
Al knows how to smoke meat; perfect amount of sauce rub & smoke turn out delicious, fork tender morsels. Huge fan of all the beef; smoked chicken & sausage are a close 2nd. Sauces rock Large onion haystack is crispy & tasty Big melt sandwich is filled with meats smother in cheese & fried Onions get it to go so the flavors meld. Try the meat stuffed baked potato with all the toppings. Great gluten free menu for all you celiacs. Desserts a bit week
If you love barbecue, this is the place you were searching for on LI. Went on a Sunday evening, so just a short wait for a table. Best barbecue on LI, if not in NYC area. Ribs were tender and flavorful. Hush puppies were great, especially with the dipping sauce. And if you have room for dessert, they do not skimp there either. Come hungry, but be prepared to wait for a table.
