We lived in Miami for twenty years, and we miss the wide-spread availability of a variety of Caribbean cuisines that are far more difficult to come by now that we live in Connecticut. So imagine our delight when we visited Soul de Cuba yesterday for the first time and had some of the best Cuban food we've ever had anywhere. The service was friendly and efficient, and the decor homey and inviting. A great addition to the New Haven dining scene!
WILL NEVER GO BACK. DISCRIMINATION!!! I went to Soul de Cuba Cafe for lunch with a friend this week. As we looked around everyone's food looked good although we never had the opportunity to taste any. The server would not come over to our table to serve us. Everyone in the restaurant had food and drinks. After a little more than 10 minutes we realized we were not welcome and decided to leave.
Food was amazing. The alligator ceviche was great. And the drinks were on point.
Excellent Cuban food. Very, very small and intimate setting. Make reservations or come at an odd time to get in. Mojitos are great.
Great, unusual Cuban specialties in a very pleasant atmosphere on New Haven's party street.
