Great margaritas and hole in the wall Mexican food. Not sure if the health department will shut them down but it's part of the charm. The margaritas will kick your butt and had me singing my college fight song for the patrons after several.
"Best, freshest TexMex in town! Cheese enchiladas, refried beans, chips are perfection, with great guacamole and chili con queso. Margaritas are real - no limeade!"
Shopworn place, looks like it's been around for a long time, in a somewhat obscure neighborhood but safe with plenty of parking. On a weeknight, seems to get quiet early but seems geared for festive crowds on the weekends. As a New Yorker, I'd be pleased to have this in my neighborhood; the guac and pico were fresh, the margaritas good, the prices more than fair. Missed having the fajitas served on a sizzling iron plate but nevertheless tasty.
Can't beat the margaritas. Authetic Tex-Mex for over 40 + years. great for after work or for lunch.
A family owned place that's been there for over 50 years. Absolutely the BEST "fresh squeezed lime juice" margaritas (on the rocks that is, the frozen aren't so good) in Texas. Sometimes the salsa is HOT, sometimes its not hot. The cheese enchaladas are outstanding and they fix authentic "single chip" nachos - not the ones where melted cheese is just poured over chips.
