  • Tried the Groupon 'Tasting Menu' and walking in I was happy to find that Zagat rated this place 28 for food. While they presented us with 6 'courses' - most of them were fried so cant really say we were served high quality food. I really was expecting a variety of fish as part of the main course however it was just tuna, salmon and yellowtail...so not really a tasting experience as advertised. Food was just okay...how did this place get a 28?

  • DON'T buy the $49 tasting menu groupon, guys. It says $100 value but it worths $40 tops. The portion was tiny and service was BAD! The other table ordered a $50 sushi special for two and the amount was more than everything in the tasting menu combined. BTW, if I ordered all the items in the tasting menu it wouldn't cost 100....And the waitress said I should give tips based on $100 value. WTF!!! Back to the food...not authentic...not even close

  • The food is phenomenal and the service is impeccable. Takara is by far my favorite Japanese restaurant. The fish is extremely fresh and the prices are affordable!

    Takara's just become my second-best fave (after Benkei, in Northport), w/in 10 miles of Huntington. Just this past MLK holiday, my spouse & I late-lunched on the most delicious, delicate sushi & 'rolls.' Even the standard "house salad" was uniquely new & good. I also requested a type of curry udon not on-menu; and its broth delighted both of us. Only the miso soup & decor were eh; but that's nuthin.
    Foodleee & its predecessor are full of #$%

  • This place in the past was excellent, well I don't know what happened. Food was slimy and I believe our apps were microwaved. To cap it my wife saw a roach in the bathroom. Check please!
