I used to love Tapas. Until I found out that their signature dressing is prepared with Soybean oil. That is right, Soybean oil. I'm not sure if that was in the original recipe, but after discovering that I stopped going there. I emailed the owner asking him to comment on the change, but never heard back. Too bad.
Clean and modern look, but classic menu favorites available. Knock-out sangria
Much nicer than the West Hartford branch. Food just as good, but this is a setting that is not as cramped..........and a MUCH nicer atmosphere.
I go to the West Hartford one. I love the food here. The greek salad is great, as well as the gyros. Mostly I love to go and get a blackboard special for $14-17 of food that would cost $25-28 elsewhere and it's always fresh and good. Their daily specials always change and is often more Italian in flavor. Chicken w/pasta, pork, fish (often salmon), sometimes steak, etc. They have wine and beer, the wine isn't great though, think it gets too hot.
Loved it. Spotlessly clean. A little noisy because of the crowd, but not obnoxiously so. The service was a good as can be and the server was very knowledgeable about the preparations and more than willing to make adjustments to accomodate a food allergy. The food itself was excellent. The Greek salad was a cut above the usual. The hummous creamy. The gyros was as good as I've ever had and the Madd Greek sauce was a welcome change.
