I have been going to Tartufo since it opened, and have had many enjoyable meals. It's a fun, yet relaxing place to dine at a lovely window table, or eat and drink at the gorgeous bar. Everything is cooked to order, which takes time understandbly, and the kitchen is small. We've had tuna tartare, lobster salad, prosciutto crostini, and many entrees of pasta, seafood, lamb, veal, and beef, all wonderfully preparpared. Female owner is wonderful!
Worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. We waited over 30 minutes to get menus, and still had to ask 3 times. Our waiter ignored us the whole evening. A dinner for two took over 2 hours even though we skipped dessert!
Really nice quaint neighboorhood restaurant in Newton Center overlooking a small park. Decor is bright with soft muted colors and hard wood flooring large windows and a long granite bar. The wait staff and owners are very nice and make you feel welcomed. We are a group of friends and have been going here for 7 years and the food is always consistent. Fresh seafood an assortment of of homemade pasta and the best veal chop in Boston. Great bar..
Salads were excellent. Caprese appetizer was mediocre with one quartered tomato and chunky mozzarella vice sliced with a sloppy presentation. Entree orders placed at the beginning, but a seafood concoction was substituted for the ordered rack of lamb. When later arrived, spouse had finished her entree, but while quite tasty, looked like a few leftover scraps. Mild apology. Both had indigestion - suspect the caprese. Service OK; Noise level high.
