Went for dinner with group of 8 for birthday celebration. Cramped into a makeshift table even though it was mostly empty. Drinks came out wrong was first bad sign. No Caesar salad as they were out of romaine lettuce, on a Thursday night? Food was OK, meatloaf wrapped in bacon people liked and the chicken was fine. Not bad just nothing special. Location is excellent.

Given the options for lunch on Main Street in Westport, the Tavern on Main is a pretty good choice. You can get a nice lunch in a quiet environment of a colonial pub. The service is good and the wine list is quite acceptable.

Had dinner here on Saturday night. Table of three, early in evening. The Lambchops had no flavor and the seafood stew wasn't good either, no flavor. Our quest reports he was sick the next day with food posioning.
The room was so dark we couldn't read the menu and need to move to a better lighted area.
It was so very loud so we could hardly have a conversation.

Have enjoyed a number of decent lunches here - that's what they do best and on that basis it deserves a little higher level of food rating. Certainly has a pleasant "English Pub" feel, especially in the winter.

getting a little tired especially now that there is little reason to go to downtown westport at night, but food and decor still above average.
