Do not let the hype and LONG waits tempt you into thinking this is a quality restaurant. The drinks though seemingly creative fall far short on execution. We ordered a mahi entree, despite the wairess' warning, holy lime zest bitterness! Awful. Chicken overcooked, scallops undercooked, shrimp obviously pre-packaged and mushy. On both occasions I went to this restaurant I found myself thinking aloud "why did I come here.". Location great
The room is fantastic, unfortunately that is the only positive thing I have to say about Temazcal. My mahi-mahi was nearly inedible, drowned in a sour lemon, acidic sauce that looked nothing like the picture on the menu. In fairness my wife liked her enchiladas. We both thought the lobster guacamole was just okay but bland (no spice or fresh cliantro??). The room is too crowded to possibly provide good service which they don't.
Get there early (pre-work release or concert) to snag a table. Don't sit in the bar: you will be subjected to the crush of drinkers, who are so desperate for food they may start to eat the chips off the recently vacated tables (true). The iPad menus slow down the turnover as one has to simultaneously learn Spanish and navigate the complicated display, and there aren't enough to go around. The margaritas are good and so is the food and the view.
