With its location, it could be incredible with more dedication to a farm to fresh sensibility. Clams on the half shell were great, but how can you screw that up? Offering a gristly Black Angus burger, a stupid nod to a meat processor's marketing ploy, doesn't make sense in natural beef-rich New York. If you've watched any restaurant makeover shows, it's easy to find the faults. And even easier to fix with a higher standard, CIA trained head chef.
Eating at Fresh Salt was a sensational experience. The view was breathtaking and the restaurant was very comfortable, not too loud or cold as many places can be. We started off with the Raw Bar which was a treat. We also tried the fantastic lobster wontons and polenta croutons-both were delicious. I ordered the lamb which was cooked to perfection. The potato strings on the side of the NY strip were not crispy enough, but this was my only compaint
It was loud in the bar area, but better in the dining room. slow throughout the evening, but we enjoyed our evening there with friends. service is lacking as our waitress got my order wrong, but I did not want the rest of the party to wait for my correct order to come, so I do like halibut, so I said it was alright. Did not like it at all. Not hot either. Chicken dish was so salty my husband did not enjoy it. And the coffee was terrible, very weak
The quality of the food is not up to the sensational view of the marina from the dining room.
Food is good, but not worth the high cost. Outdoor dining is lovely in warm weather. Location at waterside is spectacular.
