We love museum eateries. This one offers sterile surrounds on the terzo piano of the Chicago Institute but looks out on a super view. Our selections for lunch all hit the mark, with a special nod to the (very some thought) al dente orecchiette with italian sausage. Shared the nicely presented smoked trout puree appetizer, which was a confused pairing of tasty trout and flavorful caponata. Nice, moderate wines.
Terzo, first the good news; the location is great, there are great views, it is an excellent location, especially when visiting the Art Institute. The wait staff is efficient and friendly. The problem with our visit was the food. It was like the chef broke a salt shaker on each dish. We sent everything back and ate in the Institute court yard. Buy the way, of my 100+ reviews on Zagat, this is my only seriously negative food coment.
fun venue with excellent food
Beautiful views and minimalist decor lead to a relaxing dining experience. Generous portions of seasonal farm-to-table Italian cured meats, pastas, salads. Well-priced wines match well with the food. The service which was the weak spot in the past is now up to par with the food and decor.
Just terrific... architecture, art, cuisine in a single building
