The modern, glass-enclosed Renzo Piano–designed atrium of this Murray Hill museum is meant to capture the spirit of an Italian piazza and provide a contrast to the original, ornate rooms where visitors can almost feel the presence of financier Pierpont Morgan as they take in his world-renowned literary and art collections (which include three Gutenberg bibles); other highlights include a performance hall and two dining spaces – one in the Morgan’s family dining room and the other in the atrium.
